Lying at 914 mts above sea level, this beautiful plantation town got its name from the famous Sufi saint Peer Mohd. who was a close associate of Travancore Maharajas. Unending vistas of cardamom, rubber, coffee and pepper plantation dotted with beautiful water falls add charm to this place. The wide open grass lands, mist clad hillocks and tiny revulets make this place a trekkers paradise.

It is an ideal location for adventure tourism and trekking. The Trisangu hills which lie close to Kuttikkanam offer breath taking views of sunrise and sunset.

Also known as Parunthumala (eagle rock) gives a panoramic view of the neighbouring areas.

The Velankanni Matha Church built entirely of granite is a famous pilgrim centre. Pattumala - means hill draped in silk also have loftly peaks, gurgling streams and unending stretches of tea plantations.

Grass covered hillocks and cool mountain air make Vagamon stand out from all other hill stations. Adding to its charm is its curious blend of religious mysticism and European legacies. Vagamon can be rightly named as the tourist spot of the future.

This is the largest cardamom auction centre in the world. A walk through the various cardamom plantations is a nice experience.
